Yale Study Reveals COVID-19 Not Spreading in Child Care Programs
The first large-scale assessment of the risk of working in child care during the COVID-19 pandemic, conducted by Yale researchers, shows that child care programs that remained open throughout the pandemic did not contribute to the spread of the virus.
The study, where Yale researchers surveyed 57,000 child care providers across all 50 states and was published in the journal Pediatrics, found that exposure to child care was not associated with an elevated risk of spreading COVID-19 from children to adults.
This will come as a relief to the millions of families who had to make the difficult choice of using child care centers during this pandemic. Some of the caveats were that workplaces continued to follow core health and safety practices.
At Little Learners, we continue to follow all CDC and State recommended guidelines for COVID-19 safety. We hope this helps put some of our family members at ease.
